Annual International Blue Marlin Release Tournament
The 44th annual tournament is scheduled for March 27th - 29th, 2010.
 Each spring, the Curaçao Yacht Club hosts the Annual International Blue Marlin Release Tournament. The three-day event awards a US$10,000 first prize to the team that catches and releases the largest blue marlin, $3,000 to second place and $1,500 to third place. If the existing record of 803 pounds, set in 1985, is broken, the winner receives a car or pickup truck. Conservation is priority and all marlins under 300 pounds must be released.
The registration fee for the tournament is US$ 250.00 which includes Tournament souvenirs, Welcome Reception, Free drinks during Happy Hours, breakfast, bait, ice & drinks, box lunch, wine and cheese party, activities, lunch and trophies. Teams that do not come with their own boat can charter local boats. Charter arrangements must be made well in advance!
The Curacao Yacht Club was founded over 43 years ago and has grown to attract over 600 members and accommodates over 50 yachts as well as over 50 smaller boats. Visiting yachts are welcome. The club can accommodate yachts over 180 feet in length.
