Beach Clubbing in Curaçao
By Jane Ammeson
Move over South Beach because Curaçao’s amazing beach clubs kick the sun and sand experience up more than a notch. Whether you’re in the mood for luxuriating or partying, you can take your pick. Though most charge a nominal fee during the day, entry is often free at night.
Private cabanas, sweet jazz, a spectacular ocean view (sans water access), a magnificent pool and even Internet access create a swanky vibe at Saint Tropez Oceanclub. Order a mojito, enjoy the upscale food and linger for the DJ Happy Hour. For a more adventurous experience, head over to Cas Abao Beach and rent a kayak or snorkeling equipment, jump on a water trampoline, or simply enjoy a luxurious massage. Plus, you won’t want to miss their daiquiri bar and ocean view restaurant.
Make it a day and an evening by hitting Mambo Beach, Wet & Wild Beach Club or Cabana Beach, all within walking distance of each other. At Mambo Beach, you can sample ethnic delicacies and relax on cotton-draped beach loungers that face the cerulean sea. Then get ready to boogie! Nights on Mambo Beach get turbocharged as it transforms into one of the best outdoor disco spots on the island. The Wet & Wild Beach Club on Seaquarium Beach not only offers fun banana boat rides during the day, but also a happy hour with free barbecue on Fridays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. And on Sunday evenings you can catch noted DJ Boogie’s Sunday Beach Party. Beachgoers at Cabana Beach can lounge under a palapa-style cabana, feast at their Monday night Java Buffet and catch a live show at the disco.
